“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
Revelation 7:9-10
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
This is a glimpse of when Christ returns and all those who trust in Christ will be gathered together in praise, joy, and awe.
We anticipate this day with longing, but even now God gives us glimpses as we participate in his great salvation plan. God’s mission will see him glorified as more and more hear the good news of the gospel and are saved.
In 2023 we want to support mission through deep, practical, and prayerful partnership.
To assist in this, while the church will continue to support many missions, each congregation will focus on one person, and one organisation.
In focussing our support and coupling congregations with mission partners we hope to increase ownership, connection, and involvement.
Let’s connect with our missions partners regularly in services. Let’s get to know what it is that they would find helpful, and what specific prayers they would love us to be doing.
Where possible, let’s get involved practically, being creative and present. We could run an Easter Service in Berkely. We could send some vegemite to Karina (the less in Australia the better). We could run a holiday kids club in Grenfell.
This change does not mean we will be supporting less mission than we have been, we’re actually going to be supporting more.
We won’t be changing how we support these missions financially.
We will continue to use Annual Thanksgiving Day to support a variety of other projects and people.
Below is a table outlining the mission partners of each congregation:
Congregation | Person | Organisation |
8am | C & L | Anglicare |
10am Corrimal | Brendan – RIM | Scripture in Corrimal – NISB. |
9:45am | Karina Brabham | AFES |
11:30am | Roger and Noriko | Anglican Aid |
5pm | Wayne Pickford | WWCCEB |
7pm | Tim Smith | Anglicare |
Kid’s programs | Will line up | congregationally |
Youth Group | Tim Smith | Anglican Aid |
From March onwards we will be striving to hear regularly, pray knowledgeably, and aid practically, our mission partners. All for the glory of God.
