Art and Craft in the Hub
Art & Craft is such a warm and inviting place. We continue to meet weekly on a Thursday during school term in the cosy Hub to use our hands and hearts to create. We find the conversations uplifting. Several people have joined us this year and their gifts and skills have just added to the creativity of our mornings. We have enjoyed small workshops on using art materials and methods, textiles, or craft. The women have grown some warm bonds with each other and have found friends to share travel, some creative endeavours, game nights and outings of interest. During the year, we also ran an Art and Craft Exhibition in conjunction with the Illawarra Art Society, had an excursion to the Sydney Art gallery, and an excursion to Arthur Boyd’s at studio at Bundanon. We have also shared meals at local cafes, clubs and restaurants.
Come and join us if you’d like to create and chat.

Mobile Community Pantry
2024 has seen a huge growth in numbers of shoppers and strength in relationships. We are so thankful for God’s provision since the amalgamation which has bought about growth in this ministry. We thank God for the team of volunteers including those behind the scenes who have made possible us being able to gift fruit and vegetables, as well as fresh bread. We thank God for our barista coffee skilled baristas (this has been a big attraction to our ministry); conversation over a coffee making possible great connections. God has provided volunteers able to be effective listeners and conversationalists. We have been hugely encouraged by some shoppers coming to and enquiring about church services. We’ve been able to witness transformed lives which is greatly encouraging!
We thank God that at a time when the need in our community for affordable shopping is so great that Anglicare provide this ministry. And I thank God for the provision of our awesome team who cover all aspects needed to make this ministry work – especially our church community who pray for us. God is hearing your prayers.

Playtime
We are thankful to God for an amazing year at Playtime! In God’s kindness we’ve seen lots of growth with new people visiting regularly, and many visitors becoming regulars. Our regular members have brought along their friends or neighbours; with one member recently inviting a Mum she met at the local park!
Playtime is a relaxed and friendly community with opportunities to meet new people, chat and build relationships. For new parents, Playtime is a great way to feel connected and make friendships, and share your burdens and learn from others’ experiences. Each Tuesday morning we enjoy free play outside, craft, morning, music and story time. To give structure to the year, each term we create a program based on a theme. In term 4 we’ve been learning about jobs or occupations; from fire fighters, mums and dads, to shepherds and kings … like Jesus!
We are so grateful for the prayers and partnership from our church family. Please get in touch with Liz or Meaghan if you’d like to serve at Playtime in 2025. We are hopeful (and ask for your prayers) that we might be able to resume our Wollongong Playtime sometime in 2025, to make the most of the opportunity of being located in the heart of Wollongong.
