There are various events and programs run at St Michael’s for women. For example, ‘Winter Feast’ (as pictured), and Christmas craft events.
There are also many growth groups such as Women on Wednesday (WOW), who meet at 10am on Wednesdays during the school term in the church hall. All women from across the parish are welcome to come along and to bring their children to our crèche program (Children on Wednesday).
At WOW we aim to:
- Bring women together to study God’s word, pray and grow in the knowledge of God
- Explore biblical womanhood
- Connect women into church life
- Provide crèche support for mums
- Facilitate pastoral care and mentoring relationships
- Encourage evangelism and acts of service by women

Men’s ministry in a multi-congregational church like St Michael’s is somewhat ‘organic’ and de-centralised. We love blokes using a bit of initiative.
However, each year, for teaching and fellowship, a group of us go to…
Included among our Growth Groups – for prayer and Bible study – are a number of men’s groups. Get in contact with the office if you’d like to join a Growth Group.
Some of our men run together in groups; others walk or cycle together. Please ask a staff member or another bloke at church for the right people to connect with if you are interested in any of this!

High 5 Plus
A friendship and social group for those 55 and over. Normally meets on selected Fridays throughout the year. Contact Faye Kell or Lyn Kenrick at our 8am service.
The Friendship Service
This is a quiet, traditional service especially for the frailer and aged, but all are welcome. It occurs on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:30am (except second Wednesday in December, and not in January). It’s followed by a light lunch in the hall, but due to COVID-19, there are no refreshments at this time.
Wednesday Walking Groups
On Wednesdays @ 8:00am, groups of women and men (mainly retired) from St Michael’s meet to walk. They meet at North Gong Surf Club car-park, and go in opposite directions from each other, north or south on alternate weeks, with coffee after (generally at Mudcat or Bombora). All welcome! Look out for Michael or Cindy Hickman at our 8am service.
