The 8am service is a traditional service which meets weekly in the cathedral at Wollongong. It is attended by people of all ages, from newborns to retirees and seniors. We welcome everyone, whether you're reading the Bible for the first time or have been a Christian for many years! Music is often led by the cathedral’s organ. We would love you to join us for morning church on Sundays at 8am!

What to expect

The 8am service at St Michael’s has a reflective and peaceful atmosphere. It follows the Prayer Book and includes weekly communion. We sing well-loved Christian hymns (songs), led by the pipe organ. After the service, we enjoy time with one another at a local cafe. All are welcome!

9:45am is an all-ages gathering which caters to people from all stages and backgrounds. Many young families attend this service. 9:45am offers a crèche and kids’ programs, with morning tea provided afterwards.

An all-ages gathering designed for people from all stages and backgrounds. Offers a crèche and Sunday School kids’ program, with morning tea provided afterwards.

What to expect

A relaxed, family-friendly service. Our 10am church family gather together every Sunday in our Corrimal building to sing songs, pray and hear from God’s word, the Bible. 10am also runs a crèche and kids' program. We'd love to welcome you at 10am!

Join us at 11:30am

A church service using simpler English to connect with people from many nations and backgrounds; often followed by lunch together. 11:30am also provides a children's program.

Church at 5pm is a relaxed, all-ages gathering. Children can attend creche, Sunday School or Junior Bible Study (for years 6-9) during the service.

What about my kids?

We love having kids and youth at church! They're important members of our church family! We delight to partner with parents and carers to introduce them to Jesus, and to help them grow.

If you're bringing children along, we run separate crèche and kids programs during our 9:45am, 10am, 11:30am & 5pm services, and Junior Bible Study (JBS) for youth during our 9:45am & 5pm services. These programs are led by qualified children's and youth leaders with safe ministry qualifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each church service usually runs for about 70-75 minutes. We encourage people to stick around after the formal gathering (for another half an hour or so) to enjoy conversations and connections with people outside, on our grounds. We usually serve tea, coffee and morning tea after the morning services and grab dinner together after the evening services.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! There is no dress code. Usually people are dressed pretty casually at our services.  

Whilst we usually sing 4 songs in the service, you are welcome to sing along or just listen.

No, please be our valued guest! We do have a regular offetory box for regular members who may choose to contribute to the work of the church.

Yes! We have kids programs at the 9:45am, 10 am (Corrimal), 11:30am (Easy English), or 5pm services. These programs cater for children of all ages. Browse our "What's on" tab for more information about our kids and youth ministries.

We would love for you to visit, regardless of your faith background. Our church is a place for everyone, and we're here to support and journey with people from all walks of life. We do our best to explain what's happening at each point during the service, so you don't need to have any previous experience in an Anglican (or other) church.

At St Michael's, we want everyone to feel welcome and included. We are committed to making our church and activities as accessible as possible for people with a variety of needs. 
 
St Michael's Wollongong is wheelchair accessible via a ramp which connects the cathedral, office and hall from our church car park. There is also a car park space designated for disabled parking only. There is room for wheelchairs both at the front and the rear of the main body of the cathedral.

Our Corrimal site has ramp access to the Hall where we hold church services, and there’s plenty of space for wheelchairs and walkers.

Parking at Wollongong

There are a limited number parking spots available on the church grounds (including a disabled parking space). There are also paid parking meters in surrounding streets and parking stations nearby. On Sundays, we recommend parking in the Thomas St carpark, on the northern side of the church hall.

There is a small carpark on site, however we try to save these spaces for people with young children or those with accessibility needs. For street parking, try Coxs’ Lane (one-way), or look for spots on Midgley Street or Underwood Street.
