Introducing our new Assistant Minister

It’s with great joy that we can announce God has answered our prayers and raised up a new member of our ministry team! Kingsley Box is joining us as congregational pastor of 10am & 5pm, as well as responsibility for the Equip and serving aspects of church life. Kingsley is married to Veronica, and before serving at Condell Park & Yagoona, they were CMS Missionaries in Slovenia. The Boxes will start with us on Sunday May 11. And – Children’s Minister

We’re also thankful for another answer to prayer, the appointment of a children’s minister: Rachel Happer! Rachel will be joining us an interim, part-time children’s minister! We are so thankful that Rachel is able to serve on our staff team for 2 days per week, starting April 28.

Rachel has experience in kids ministry (working at Forestville), then Moore College (completed the 3 year BTh). She is married to Ed, who has just started in the Assistant Minister role at Gerringong. Rachel is expecting their first child in September, and will be using her gifts with us part-time to serve us until then.

While Rachel can’t be with us on Sundays due to her commitments at Gerringong, her role will encompass:

• Staff meetings to stay connected with parish life;
• Support & encouragement of team & area leaders in Kids ministry (Sunday Kids Church, SRE, Playtime, Kids Club);
• Focus on supporting & encouraging people, not programming, and availability to support all who serve in kids ministry;
• Administration required for kids ministry.

Our current kids ministry teams have been exceptional this term. Praise God for them! Please keep praying for God to raise the right fulltime, long-term person, and give thanks for God’s kindness in providing Rachel in the interim.
