All about the power and accountability of leaders and words

How Not to Debate Ideas in the Public Square

Many of these helpful reflections from Kevin DeYoung would also apply around the water cooler or in extended family discussions (or debates!)

The Power of Words

Here’s a little extract reporting an exhortation on from Peter Jensen about the power of speech: “Bad doctrine, which is a travesty of the gospel, is doing much harm. But just as harmful is the careless or self-serving language by which other believers are traduced either secretly or publicly.” (I am looking forward to reading the whole journal article.)

Guarding the Flock

I share this because mainline denominational churches like us Anglicans need to be 100% just as alert to real accountability in this area of leaders going off the rails, even if we have made some improvements in recent years.
